so…i turn on the compy to do something and about 9 times out of 10, many minutes later, i realize i’ve become distracted and still haven’t done the one thing i was meaning to do. does this happen to other peops?

Yes. And the worst part is that, once I realize I haven’t done what I was going to do, I can’t remember what it was. It’s distressing.
Constantly!
This happens to me all the time and I can never remember what it was that I started out to do until couple hours later.
Friendfeed, twitter, Digg, Facebook, Email, Kotaku, Gizmodo, Google Reader, etc. etc.
Call it a yes.

All. The. Time. It’s a miracle that I’m able to juggle everything (work, school, some semblance of life), with my habit for chronic distraction.
